Board Communique August 2021

Dear Members

Principals Australia Research Foundation Ltd’s (PARF) Board met via Zoom on 16 August 2021. The meeting included 5 key matters:

1.      The upcoming AGM and the annual statements

2.      The 2021 Directors’ Report

3.      Finance and investment review

4.      PARF’s strategic plan, including operational objectives and Director capabilities.

2021 AGM

Notice was approved for distribution shortly for the AGM on Tuesday 12 October at 1400 (AEDST). At the AGM, the Directors’ Report and Financial Statements will be considered. Proposed amendments to the constitution will be put to Members for consideration. In accordance with the constitution, 1 third (2) of Directors will reach term. Both directors are eligible for re-election at the AGM.

 2021 Directors’ Report.

The Board resolved that the Directors’ report for Principals Australia Research Foundation Ltd for year ended 30 June 2021 is a true and fair view of the affairs of the company. The Directors’ Report and 2021 Financial Statements for PARF will be available on the website when the formal notice of meeting is distributed. PARF Website: www.parf.org.au

 Finance and Investment Review

The Board delegated the Finance and Investment Committee to undertake a review of the investment portfolio target in consultation with the investment manager JB Were. A recommendation is scheduled to be presented to the October Board meeting.

 PARF’s strategic plan and operational objectives

The Board resolved to undertake a review of the Strategic Plan to ensure alignment of the Operational plan with evolving activities. This will include reviewing the operational objectives for the next 12 months. Work also began on assessing Director capabilities against the capability needs of the plan.

Research and Development Funding for 2022

The Board has allocated up to $80,000 for funding research projects in academic year 2022. Application form and guidelines are available at www.parf.org.au. Applications close 30 September 2021.
