Board Communique August 2023
Dear Members
Principals Australia Research Foundation Ltd’s (PARF) Board met at Rydges Capital Hill, Canberra on 15 August 2023. The agenda included 4 key matters:
1. Investment review
2. Operational Business
3. Research and Development Funding for 2024.
4. Promotion and communication of research reports
Investment Review
The Board discussed options for reviewing the performance of the investment portfolio and investment manager, JBWere. The Board resolved to develop a briefing document for a 5 year performance review. The Board will engage a suitably experienced independent financial advisor to undertake the review.
Operational Business
Having regulatory approval from ACNC to change the annual reporting period to end December, a modified report for 2023, which will cover the period from 1 July to 31 December 2023.
The Board will hold the AGM on 29 November for the 2022-2023 year. An AGM will be held before June 2024 to begin the calendar/academic year cycle of annual reporting. Notice of the AGM will be forwarded to Members shortly.
The Board considered the 2022-23 Directors Report and will confirm the final report pending the inclusion of Annual Financial Statements and the Audit Review.
Research and Development Funding for 2024
The Board resolved to communicate with APPA and ASPA to promote the Research Funding Program. Applications for 2024 close on Friday 27 October 2023. See www.parf.org.au
Promotion of Research Reports
The Board received a presentation on the APPA/ASPA School Leader Wellbeing Research Report. The report highlighted positive stories and discussed why leaders are doing well. It identified practices that help leaders, plus areas for further research. The report will be available on: www.parf.org.au
The Board considered updates on the current WASSEA research project and the QASSP and NSWPPA project reports.
