Board Communique April 2025

Dear Members

Principals Australia Research Foundation Ltd’s (PARF) Board met via Teams Meet on 7 April 2025. The agenda included 3 key matters:

1.     Investment Portfolio update

2.     2025 AGM processes

3.     Research projects 2025 update.

Investment Portfolio

The Board received an update on the progress of the tender document. The document will be finalised at the May Board meeting. The Board resolved to seek a briefing from JBWere on the current market developments.

2025 AGM

The Board resolved to adopt supporting reports following which the Notice and accompanying regulatory reports were approved for distribution to Members for the AGM, scheduled for Tuesday 29 April at 15.30 (AEST). At the AGM, the Directors’ Report and Financial Statements will be considered. In accordance with the constitution, 1 third (2) of Directors will reach term. Three candidates for appointment as Directors are to be considered at the AGM. They are APPA’s nominees, Robyn Evans and Deb Dalwood and the Board’s nominee Matthew Wigzell, current Director appointed to fill a casual vacancy. Retiring Directors, Dr Ian Anderson and Garry Brown OAM, who both were appointed when PARF was established in September 2018, have contributed substantially to the Board as APPA’s nominees.

Research Projects 2025 update

The Board considered updates on the current South Australian Secondary Principals Association’s project and the Australian Primary Principals Association’s research project. The Board noted that both projects have commenced following ethics approval completion. A progress report will be provided at the May Board meeting. The Board will invite the Tasmanian Principals Association to provide a presentation on the research project completed in 2024 at the next Board meeting.
