Principals Australia Research Foundation Ltd’s (PARF) Board met via Zoom on 24 February 2021. The meeting agenda included 3 key matters:
1. Risk Management Register and Plan.
2. Investment Portfolio update.
3. Research Projects update
Risk Management Register and Plan.
The Board reviewed the draft risk register. Discussion focused on the ratings, consequences and control measures of risks with a focus on risks rated ‘high’. The Board resolved to review the revised Risk Register with further work on identifying specific actions to manage the risks.
Investment Portfolio Update
The Investment Portfolio manager from JBWere, provided an update on the current circumstances concerning world and Australian economic conditions and the rate of recovery of investment values. The December 2020 Quarterly report was presented. JBWere has modified their asset allocations for reporting purposes. This may require a modification to the wording in PARF’s Investment Policy. The Board resolved to review the Investment Policy, following advice from JB Were.
The Board received a draft revised terms of reference for the Finance and Investment committee. Following discussion, the Board resolved that the Finance and Investment Committee review the draft revised terms of reference for Board consideration.
Research Projects Update
NSWPPA: Progressing, survey is out and replies coming in. The survey closes April 9. Data analysis to begin in term 2. The next stage will include the focus group training.
SASPA: The project team has announced the launch on 15th March of “The Thriving Principal” program. Details are available at: https://www.saspa.com.au/2021/01/15/the-thriving-principal-a-saspa-sappa-professional-learning-program-2021/
QASSP: The research team has engaged University of Southern Queensland to complete the literature review and develop the survey tool. Ethics approval will follow once survey instrument is completed.
ASPA: Letter and agreement document forwarded to ASPA for signing.
Research Funding Dates for 2022 Applications
Applications open 12 July and Close 30 September. Successful applications notified by 26 November.
